Directions for Use

• Safety: Wear suitable protective gear, including chemical resistant gloves and eye protection, before handling. Use only in well ventilated areas away from heat sources, sparks, or open flames.
• Dispensing: Secure the drum and attach a compatible 20L drum tap or pourer to the bottom outlet for controlled dispensing into an approved, labeled squeeze bottle or container.
• Hard Surface Cleaning & Degreasing: Apply a small amount of Methylated Spirits onto a clean microfibre cloth or paper towel. Wipe the surface in a smooth, continuous motion to remove grease, fingerprints, or sticky residue. Allow the solvent to evaporate naturally - no rinsing is required on non-food contact surfaces.
• Glass & Stainless Steel Polishing: Apply directly via a spray bottle or lint-free cloth. Buff the surface immediately using a dry microfibre towel until crystal clear and streak free.
• Fuel Source:
  1. Use only in appliances explicitly rated for liquid alcohol/methylated spirits (e.g., marine spirit stoves, camping burners like Trangia, alcohol lamps, or approved liquid-fuel heaters).
  2. Never use methylated spirits in standard gasoline, kerosene, or propane/isobutane appliances.
  3. Place the stove or burner on a flat, stable, non-flammable surface outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Keep clear of tents, paper, or overhanging materials.
  4. Ensure the fuel reservoir, wick, and burner ports are clean, dry, and free of cracks or corrosion.
  5. Dispense methylated spirits from your 20L drum into a smaller, safety-capped pouring bottle or flask equipped with a narrow spout.
  6. Carefully pour the fuel into the burner reservoir until it reaches the recommended fill line (do not overfill).
  7. Wipe up any drips or spills on the outside of the stove or surrounding area immediately before lighting.
  8. Keep the main fuel container sealed and placed at least 5 metres away from the lighting area.
  9. Use a long-reach neck lighter or long match to ignite the fuel port or wick from the side. Keep your body and face clear of the top opening.
  10. Soot-Reduction Tip: Adding approximately 5-10% clean water (about 1–2 teaspoons per cup of spirits) to the fuel can significantly reduce black soot buildup on the bottoms of pots and pans.
  11. To turn off the flame, place the designated snuffing lid/cap firmly over the burner orifice to starve it of oxygen.
  12. Do not attempt to blow out an alcohol flame.
  13. Verify the flame is completely out - remember that alcohol flames can be virtually invisible under bright sunlight.
• Storage: Keep the container tightly closed when not in use. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, oxidizing agents, and ignition sources.
