BioPak Bioplastic clear BioLids are made from Ingeo^TM PLA plastic and certified industrially compostable. Ingeo is made from plants and has a CO2 footprint 75% smaller than conventional plastics even if it ends up in landfill. Seal your clear sauce and bio cups with a universal Bioplastic lid (60ml to 280ml) for a complete bio packaging solution. Bioplastic non-raised flat lids feature no holes to ensure contents are spill proof. They're perfect for stacking.

Eco friendly clear cups are an excellent substitute for standard foam / plastic cups or traditional sauce cups as they reduce your carbon footprint. Many council areas today will only allow eco friendly packaging in food service areas. We have a full range of compostable packaging, perfect for satisfying even the most discerning local council.

BioCup lids can be composted in a commercial compost facilty, however this option is not widely available in Australia. If the BioLid ends up in landfill, it still has upstream environmental benefits, such as reduced greenhouse gas emissions and reduced dependence on fossil fuels. To gain maximum advantage though, the compost bin is the recommended destination, completeing the cycle by enriching the earth that helped produce it.

What is Bioplastic?
Bioplastics are plastics derived from renewable sources, such as plant starch. Some, but not all, bioplastics are designed to biodegrade. The production and use of bioplastics is generally regarded as a more sustainable activity when compared with plastic production from petroleum, because it relies less on fossil fuel as a carbon source and also introduces fewer, net-new greenhouse emissions if it biodegrades. They significantly reduce hazardous waste caused by oil-derived plastics, which remain solid for hundreds of years.
