Bagasse is a natural by product of sugarcane after the juice is extracted from the cane. The fibre remaining after the sugarcane plant has been harvested is kept wet and blended with water to form sugarcane pulp. Additives are combined with the sugarcane pulp and pressed into shape using high temperatures which results in compostable food packaging products that are both sturdy and microwavable.
